Our Introduction to SRT, Pitch Rigging and SRT Rescue and advanced problem solving training courses will be running in the Yorkshire Dales. Courses are targeted at those with some experience and competent in horizontal caves, but wanting to develop their skills further, and can be run on either a 1:1 basis or for groups of up to 6.
The ability to be self sufficient underground enables you take the adventure to the limit, Single Rope Technique is the first step, learn to master the basic skills and you will be able to competantly ascend and descend ropes and move along traverses and pitch heads safely.

Day 2, we head off to the Yorkshire Dales to develop those skills even further with the extra challenge of exploring active cave systems, the weather can have a major impact on our choice of cave or caves, and may mean that we do a further intensive day inside.

All technical equipment and clothing is covered by the course fee, if you wish to use your own there is no problem, it will need to be subject to a full Safety Inspection prior to use.

Various options from self catering to B and B are available, many only minutes walk from the Training facility.
Leading on from Intro to SRT, this 2 day course takes your skills forward enabling you to develop your skills in managing the rigging of ropes underground. We will take you through the knots required and the techniques of rigging, thus enabling you to take the first tentative steps of leading your own SRT trips.

While working on single ropes the beauty of independance can be our greatest threat, the ability to change over from SRT to abseil and vice versa while on mid rope is essential as with gaining the knowledge of how to improvise with your SRT rig to enable the replacement of a lost or damged item of equipment.
Being suspended in your harness for little more than 6 minutes can cause “Harness Induced Pathology” effectively leading to unconciousness and death. Being able to respond and adapt to situations quickly and effectively is paramount.
