Open enrollment courses for Individuals, Peak District

During the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd october we will be running a series of Open Enrollment Courses in the Derbyshire Peak District.

The venues we use will be weather dependant but we would ideally be looking at spending time in Giants Hole or Bagshawe cavern. two ideal introductory venues for beginners. Places are restricted to 6 persons on each day so please book well in advance, as this enables us to to not only reserve your place, but also ensure we have the right clothing and equipment to fit you.

The cost for the day is £50-00 per person, all equipment will be provided as usual with refreshments available at the start and end of the day.

We hope to be running a further weekends through out the year with the next in November, this time in the the Yorkshire Dales, then a series of mining trips in the Northern pennines around the Nent Head and Alston area, in December.

Hidden Earth 2010

For the first time, GoCave will be displaying at Hidden Earth this year, as the premier event on the Caving calendar we are pleased to be part of this. Staff will be on the stand through out the weekend for questions on courses and training.

We hope to be able to provide some additional input on training through having a rope rigged from floor to ceiling and will have a number of SRT rigs available. Alongside our in house Dummy, proudly displaying the Top of the range caving suit from Phoenix caving and a full SRT rig from Petzl.

We also hope to be running a competition over the weekend, yet to be decided, but there will be a prize…..

Training Centre now open

The long awaited training Centre at Leeming Farm is now open, with traverse lines, deviations, and rebelays all in place.
The first of a number of training sessions was run the other evening and saw delegates adopt the skills of SRT effortlessly and after a couple hours were completeing mid rope transfers from SRT to Abseil confidently.

We hope to run regular training evenings through out the summer to help keep those skills in tune.

New Training Centre

23 January 10

Building work is progressing well, and weather permitting GoCave should be able to start running courses from the centre in the Spring. These will be run in association with Distant Horizons who have kindly granted us full access for our courses. We fully expect this development to be the best of its kind in the North of England and should provide cavers with the very best of indoor Training alligned with the best of Instruction and Guidance provided by ourselves. In addition 6 full SRT riggs will be available for hire, along with helmets etc.

After the success of our vouchers for groups of up to 3 persons, perfect for couples or family days, we have launched our Indie Vouchers, these enable you purchase a Gift Voucher exclusively for that special person, with out the additional expense of the larger vouchers. At £75 for a full day these are competitively priced to match the larger Experience brands while still remaining bespoke and personal.

Demand has been high for gift vouchers to be given as leaving or birthday presents for friends and family, so we’ve worked on a high gloss, full colour A4 or A5 voucher that you can pass on. These gift vouchers can be emailed in a format to enable you to add in a few details or we can post it to you in time for the special event.

We have just upgraded a number of caving suits to bespoke ones made for us by Phoenix caving in South Wales, these are a cut above the old Dragon ones with neoprene cuffs and colour coded collars for sizing.

Over the last few months our new web site has served us well and bookings have been better than we could expect, well we are now moving forward with the new site, and hopefully it should be up and running in the next few weeks. But most of all a big thank you to all of you have been using us and helping us make our way up the rankings.
