Caving in the Mendips
Below are our two favoured venues should you wish to utilise the Mendips for your caving adventure.
Goatchurch Cavern
This is our favoured venue for most beginners groups. It is dry and offers the choice of an inviting walk-in entrance or a more exciting alternative. The cave is quite a maze which means there are routes suitable for all abilities. Those of you feeling in need of adventure can take on some of the more tortuous squeezes, challenging yourself emmotionaly and physicaly, while the less adventurous can take a more spacious route.
Swildon’s Hole
So you’ve been caving and you want to raise the bar, well this is a great venue for more confident groups and for those who have caved before. The manhole entrance into rushing water can appear frightening to novices but beyond are spectacular waterfalls and large caverns filled with fabulous stalactite formations. This is one cave where you won’t stay dry, but with the clothing and equipment that we supply, while you may be wet, you should stay warm! Are you up for the challenge? If so climbs, cascades and waterchutes await.
